Hi. I'm Lauren. I'm a licensed Occupational Therapist with seven years of clinical experience and a Master's in OT from the Medical University of South Carolina. I also have the kind of brain that keeps 187 tabs open at all times, so I've had skin in this game since long before I had the credentials to back it up.
OTs don't just help people recover from injuries. We help people figure out how to actually live their daily lives. And I kept noticing the same thing with every patient, every friend, every honest conversation over coffee. Women who were functional but miserable. Doing everything right. Feeling nothing good. Nobody was checking on them because they were still holding it together.
So I wrote the book I wished I could hand to every single one of them. Grounded in the same OT research I use with my patients, stripped of the textbook voice. Written the way I actually talk, which is to say, like a warm, slightly funny friend who happens to know the clinical research.
